SHE MATTERS
She Matters is a community of survivors and allies united in
healing and support, education, and advocacy.Â
She Matters began as a way for survivors to find each other, to be seen, and to be heard and believed. It started with a simple idea: that survivors deserve a space where their voices are not only welcomed, but valued. Since then, we've grown into a community-driven movement focused on transforming the way care, justice, and healing are accessed after sexual violence.
We’re a survivor-led organization because we wholeheartedly believe that no one understands this journey better than those who’ve lived it. And we’re here to walk alongside you—not to tell you what to do, but to offer support, digital tools, and valuable education so you can decide what healing looks like for you.
Everything we do is rooted in lived experience, compassion, and a commitment to making sure every survivor—no matter who you are, or where you're from—has access to the trauma-wise care, community, and access to justice and support that you so rightfully deserve.Â
At She Matters, we believe survivors deserve to understand their rights, know their options, live with dignity, and be embraced by a supportive community.
As a survivor-led organization rooted in the power of lived experience, our work is shaped by the understanding that healing doesn’t follow a straight path. We are grounded in the idea that survivors know what they need best.Â
Whether you're seeking care, justice, safety, or simply space to breathe - we’re here to walk alongside you. This is a space where survivors lead, where choices are respected, and healing is honoured in all its forms.
At She Matters, we promise to:
-
Amplify Survivors’ Voices through digital campaigns, storytelling, and advocacy that challenges systemic gaps in care and access to justice.
-
Educate Survivors of Their Rights by developing accessible, survivor-centered resources and tools that break down complex systems and outline options with clarity and compassion.
-
Provide Digital Support Tools that support survivors in understanding how to seek care, navigate access to justice, and explore healing on their own terms.
-
Advocate for Enhanced Care Pathways that meet survivors where they are and support healing in the wait time - particularly in rural, remote, and underserved communities.
-
Lead Community-Based Research that centers survivor experiences and drives systems change in healthcare, law enforcement, access to justice and public policy.
Our work is not about speaking for all survivors—it’s about creating the space, support, and tools to ensure survivors can speak for themselves, be believed, and access the care and justice they deserve.
Here, survivors lead the way. And we're just getting started.
